Vision for the D, Barter, GP, RO and BMN
I just sent this blast:
First off a Very Happy Father's Day to all of wonderful dads of MCC land. Give yourselves a pat on the back and a sip of icey cold beer for me ;-)
A better Detroit
I first wrote about the changes going on in the D in 2007 when my family and I went downtown for a Tiger's game. It was then that I really understood the phrase "What you focus on you find". Instead of seeing all of the cracked out houses, I saw the few whose lawns were manicured and had flowers hanging in the window. Since that time I see a lot more of that, and new construction, and the River Walk and happy people walking down the streets. Why? Because what we focus on, we find.
I just finished a quasi-manifesto: Terry Bean's Vision for the Future of Detroit. I'd love for you to take a look at it and share your thoughts. And yes I'm a Dreamer. And YES, I'm a DOER!!
The exciting world of barter
Wouldn't it be nice if we could hold on to our hard earned cash and trade our products and services for the products and services we need? Sounds old fashioned, doesn't it? Barter is a great idea that is as old as time itself. Unfortunately many "exchanges" have been setup in recent years with the intention of creating great profits for themselves by excessively charging their members monthly and for every transaction. ACE Barter intends to change that. Read HERE about this exciting offer ACE and MCC member Angela Fisher.
Upcoming MCC events
Tuesday, June 19 MCC Live East Side at Ray Laethem Motor Village (Chrysler Brands) 11:30-1:00 We will talk about avoiding communication breakdowns and as added bonus the good folks at Ray Laethem have set it up so you can get your oil changed and tires rotated while the meeting is going on. Pretty cool!
Tuesday, June 26 MCC Live Royal Oak at Basstone (well technically VinoTecca) We had a great first meeting here last month with 30+ people and I'm looking forward to our next one. Topic to be announced next week.
Other events
Be sure to check out the Ferndale Area Chamber Rainbow Run for Acceptance and Diversity this Sunday. It looks like a ton a fun and you will be colorful when you finish.
