Upper Peninsula Question

Hello Everyone,,
I am relatively new to Michigan so not familiar with much of the area. I'm trying to help a friend with research for an article and thought this would be a good place to get the answer.
The article is about educational travel and my friend would like to know if there are any good semi-educational places to take kids to learn about the cherry industry in the UP. Feel free to answer here, on twitter (twitter.com/karenswim) or via email karenswim@gmaill.com.
Thanks in advance for the help and I look forward to getting to know you all.
Karen

HI Karen,
Not quite the UP, the National Cherry Festival is held in Traverse City in July. Here's a link to info

Other fun and/or educational places to explore with the kids:
Colon , MI, magic capital of the world (founded by Henry Blackstone)

Turkeyville (on the way West to Colon, just outside of Marshall)

Enjoy!

Susan, thank you, thank you! I passed this on and kept the list for myself. This actually sounds like fun for adults too and I really need to explore Michigan! Thank you so much. I hope to meet you at an event soon.
Have a great night!
Karen
