Freedom, Buy Michigan NOW, TEDx Detroit, #bustup recap and Novi mtg

It’s almost that time of year again. We Americans sure do love our freedom and we are certainly blessed in so many ways. This weekend will be chock full of BBQs, families and friends getting together and having a great time. How will you spend this holiday? 

For those that know me, I am a HUGE fan of the Simpson’s and this scene about Homer Buying Illegal Fireworks always brings a smile to my face. I hope you enjoy it.

The BIG Buy Michigan Now festival is almost upon us. It’s a three day event that takes place Friday August 5th through Sunday August 7th and is located in lovely downtown Northville. I sat down with the founder of the festival, Lisa Diggs on Tuesday and got to chat with her about it. This is the third year and record attendance is expected. Lisa is looking for volunteers (people to work the festival) vendors (Michigan based companies with goods to sell) and Sponsors (Michigan based businesses who want to support our great state). TEDx Detroit

The third TEDx Detroit is coming back on September 28. You will want to save the date if you’re into inspiring ideas from Detroit. I promise this will be the best conference you attend this year. The #bustup was a huge success

Thanks to the 100 or so people who took time on their Saturday to join us to make a difference. It was a great event and we did a lot of good for our city. We finished taking down a house and started on taking down a building. Stephen Clark of Channel 7 news captured a great story on #bustup. Our own Mark Besh of Visual Impact created a more Motor City Connect friendly version of #bustup too.

MCC Live Novi

Call us crazy, but we are in fact going to do MCC Live on July 5th in Novi. You already know Tuesday after a holiday is going to be a slow day.
