How Can We Ease Detroit's Strain?
Detroit's population, as shown by the latest census number, is still declining. The blight, as we can see in many neighborhoods, is still growing. Apparently a lot of people consider the city a great place to visit, but nobody wants to live here. Coming in and knocking down a few houses a day is a slow process and doesn't address the real problem -- Detroit really needs a working class to make it viable. What would it take for you to buy a house within Detroit's city limits and live in it (if you don't already)? What would it take for you to sell someone on Detroit as THE place to live and work? What action can you take, or are you taking, to make a difference in Detroit? Yes, I'm a lifelong resident.
