Voting, Collective X and JAWS (The burger, not the Movie)

Happy Saturday kiddies-

First off, I can't tell you how proud I am of this group. Veni, Vida, Vici best describes what we accomplished. Totally cool. Although the final results have yet to show up, YOU have done great work for both Children's Hospital and Metro Detroit. Way to go MCC. I would like to give special acknowledgement to Linda Anger, Lin Klassen, Duane Ahola, David Glenn and Charlie Wollborg. Way to lead folks! All I know is that we beat 3rd place by over 19% and that as of 1:00 est yesterday we were up .84 over second place. Hey, that puts us in first. Did we hold onto it?? Either way, Super cool!

Collective X!- The move is on. When I looked this morning we had 137 members. In exactly 2 weeks from today, you WILL NOT be able to post new information here on Yahoo Groups. If you haven't made the transition, Make it. It may look daunting, but it is actually every bit as easy to use as yahoo groups. Find an appropriate theme for your topic (if you can't find one, use general discussion) click that link and on the upper right hand side click "create topic". How easy is that?? Oh, it would be easier if you knew where Collective X site was, go to our homepage, www.motorcityconnect.com and you can sign up straight from there. If you go to our "members" page on www.motorcityconnect.com, you actually get to the Collective X site. Very cool.  (This was posted on Yahoo groups first, so if you're experiencing a bit of a DUH moment, you know why).

Have you had a JAWS burger? Daaaannnnnnggggggg. Their slogan "everything is big at JAWS" is pretty telling. They are just South of 13 Mile Road on Orchard Lake (you know, by all of the potholes). I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to finish it and am still both surprised and sorry I did. Not for lack of taste or deliciousness, but because people just shouldn't eat that much. In addition to a great burger (on par with Red Coat Tavern, which has held my vote for Detroit's Best Burger for years) they show movies all day long. On big screens, with cool sound systems. It was a neat experience. Oh yeah, and they have live sharks. Cool place indeed.
