Christmas in Action - 50 people; 1 house; 1 day
Every year, on the last Saturday in April, an army of volunteers
heads out to repair the homes of people in desperate need. These
aren't small repairs. In a number of communities throughout Oakland
County, there are homes where around 50 people will spend the day
doing things like replacing the roof, building a wheelchair access
ramp, landscaping the yard, and completely renovating the bathroom.
And that could be on just one house!
It's an amazing sight to behold, and we need more volunteers. The
number of houses that can be in the program in any given year is
limited only by the number of people available to roll up their
sleeves and get involved.
I have been a part of Christmas in Action for the past 5 years and
watched it grow by leaps and bounds, adding new cities every year. My
teenage children have joined me for the past few Aprils and it has
proven to be solid growth experience for them (minimum age is 12).
Please consider getting involved this April, and bringing along
family and friends. More information can be found at

Dave,
I'm on the board of the Troy chapter. We have been in existance for 2 years now. It is truly a growing and uplifting experience. Kudos to you for the 5 years.
