Campaign for Children's Hospital of Michigan
Beyond just business networking, MCC takes great pride in helping the community. This month, we're sharing the love with Children's Hospital of Michigan. We need your help.
Give a Click. Point your browser over to Colgate's Community Challange and vote for Detroit's own Children's Hospital. The winning medical center receives a double donation from the good folks at Colgate.
Collect Kids Stuff. We are gathering up new, fun stuff to stock Children's Hospital's toy shelves for sick kids like Crayola crayons, Play-Dough and Match Box cars. View the complete list here. We'll be announcing MCC drop off locations soon.
Together, we will be the catalyst for great things happening in our community. A positive impact starts with you.

HOSPITAL FUN CENTER COMPETITION ENDS IN DOWN-TO-THE-WIRE FINISH: RESULTS DUE MARCH 4, 2008
While many in metro Detroit hold Kurt Badenhausen in contempt for naming Detroit "America's Most Miserable City" in his January 30 article in Forbes Magazine, his article heightened our resolve to show the world the positive side of life in southeast Michigan. The winner of Colgate-Palmolive's national competition for a second mobile "Fun Center" won't be announced until Tuesday, March 4, but in the final online report - posted Feb. 29 at 1:00 p.m. EST, Detroit led the pack with 33.70% of the national vote. Houston was in second place with 32.86%, and Atlanta ran a distant third with 14.40%.
A huge "Thank You" to everyone who voted every day (or just once) and put the message out to friends, colleagues and the media. A special "Thank You" to Duane Ahola, who took this project on in a huge and unrelenting way, and to Lin Klaassen, whose relationship with Fox2 was pivotal in broadcasting the message throughout the area.
We can't deny that some things in southeast Michigan need fixing, but Badenhausen and Forbes Magazine are clearly misguided. A people's spirit cannot be reduced to statistics.
