TONS of great news about and from Detroit
I just sent this blast:
Have you all noticed the amount of positive information circling our area? Heck even all of the snow coverage that dominated the news is better than what it replaced.
Ford posted $6B profit and rewarded employees. Chrysler is closing in on their IPO. GM is flush with cash. Delphi, Visteon and Lear are all growing. Perhaps you don't care about big companies?? Well, take a look at the entrepreneur landscape...growth, growth and more growth. I talk to people every day who say that the last 2-3 months have not only been busy, but they're getting PAID too ;-) Oh and one last thing...companies ARE hiring and the unemployment rate is dropping.
GET READY
We are entering into a new era. One where Detroit will no longer be the punchline or the whipping boy. One where we will be the most revered city (AGAIN) on the planet. We need to change our collective identity* (see notes from Challenge event) as a city and a region for this to happen. We can't expect the rest of the world to look up to us if we keep looking down at one another.
I can tell you why in very simple terms...because we work hard, we play hard, we are intelligent, creative, innovative, determined and we are surrounding by some of the best land and water that this planet has to offer. There has been an awakening and most people are starting to remember to look for the light. Personally I would prefer that we didn't need to fall and hit bottom before waking up, but whatever it takes...
Interesting facts
I ask you to take a look at this very insightful article, entitled "The Worlds Best Emerging Market" from wealth manager extraordinaire, Leon LaBrecque from LJPR.
You will see things in that article that remind you of what a great place this is and why NOW is the best time to be here.
My ASK
In related news I am building a business that will take advantage of this unprecedented time by using social media and combining the low cost of real estate in this area with people's desire to make an ROI on it. If you know people who are in the REO business (those buying and selling houses) that would be a great referral for me. If you are interested in making an investment in a software business, that too would be a great referral.
Notes from The Challenge Event *
Many of you saw my posts encouraging you to attend "The Challenge Event". It was better than I said it would be. Those who attended were in for a REAL treat. I did my best to capture the essence in my notes. I have shared them HERE. I am going to encourage Rod and his team to do this event again. Tell me what would make you show up? For additional information on Envision-U, join the FAN PAGE.
What can we do for you? Take some time and let us know!
All my best-
Terry Bean

The gist is this:
We are creating a private club (web based) full of investors from the world over (using social media and the Internet to attract the RIGHT people) who want to invest in Detroit. This will benefit residential and commercial realtors alike.
We plan on having membership dues for anyone selling/renting property and allowing the investors to join the group free.
If this sounds like something you would like to hear more about, call me 248.224.1326.
Thanks-
Terry
