Do you believe that Detroit has a strong future? Read the pledge

I just sent this blast:

This past Tuesday was the kickoff for the "Believe in Detroit" campaign. Amazing things are about to take place all around the area.  We all get to be a part of it.

It would be great if you would take a moment and share your thoughts about our future. Please come to the site and do so. Here is the pledge:

I will become an advocate and an ambassador. 

I will do my best to encourage those who live in and around the city to become change-makers and Believers themselves.

I will help change internal attitudes by saying positive things about our city, even though I know there are challenges we face.

I will encourage as many people as I can to visit the "I'm a Believer" website (www.believeindetroit.org) so that they can volunteer, tutor a child, help a senior, plant a garden, clean up a neighborhood, donate- whatever they choose.

I will also ask that they visit the I'm a Believer Facebook (www.facebook.com/detroitbeliever) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/detroitbeliever) pages and become active participants, as well as encouraging others to participate.

I believe that when internal attitudes change, our external image will improve.

I believe that we can revitalize Detroit and make everyone proud we are from Detroit.

As a leader, I will ask everyone I know (organizations, businesses, schools, religious institutions, and community influencers) to offer their time, money or whatever it takes to change the perception of the area.

It is important that we all come together and become Believers. If we all do something, we can do anything. Let's make Detroit a great city again!
