Hi Folks,
I am looking for a good flute instructor in the Mount Clemens Area.
This is for my 9 year old daughter. She already knows some basics and really wants to learn.

Terri - I don't know any specific flute instructors in your area, but I do have two suggestions.
1. Call the band director at your high school. He/she will at least be able to point you in the right direction and give you some ideas.
2. Call the store where you bought/rented your daughter's flute. They will know all the good (and not so good!) instructors in the area and should be able to give you some good referrals.
My daughter played flute from 5th grade on, and was in the Troy Athens Marching Band (one of the best in the state!), playing flute for 2 years and piccolo for 2 years. Both she and I loved it - and it was the making of her! Good luck to you both in your musical journey.

1. The teacher we used earlier this year --recommended from the band director -- has retired....
Waiting to hear back from the grade school music teacher.
2. She took lessons from the music store for 6 months and never learned a song until we decided it wasn't working out... not sure why we waited so long. Her brother, who plays the sax, then showed her a song and she learned Hot cross buns and Mary had a little lamb in one short lesson.
Thought we might have a flute teacher somewhere in the group.
BTW, have to brag. My son was selected for Honor's band... only 3 in his grade... very proud...
