Community Partnership Program for Non-profit Organizations

Description:

The Shen Yun Performing Arts - The world's premier Chinese classical dance and music company (featuring a live orchestra and a cast of over 100 dancers, singers and musicians) will return to the Detroit Opera House in January, 2011.
Even with the current economic situation, in 2010, it dazzled 1.2 million live audience members giving around 400 performances in 120 cities across North and South America, Asia, Oceania and Europe, and has already graced many of the world's greatest stages, including New York's Radio City Music Hall, London's Royal Festival Hall, Washington DC's Kennedy Center, and Paris' Le Palais de Congrès. Shen Yun's success has been miraculous, and artists and critics alike are saying its productions are among the very best in the world. Listed below are some audience responses to the Shen Yun show compiled from across the globe. For more information about the Shen Yun, please go to http://www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org
1. Ninety percent of audiences have variously commented that, "this is the best show, and that they had never seen anything like it before. It is the best holiday gift and unlike anything that they have received before." Many people also said that everyone should see it at least once in their lifetime.
2. Shen Yun shows provide the highest quality entertainment program by integrating the true beauty of the arts. The performances are accompanied by a live orchestra integrated of both Chinese and Western music, elegant dances that integrate traditional moral values, gorgeously brilliant costumes, and vivid 3-D animation back drops,
3. By using myths and legends in its storytelling, Shen Yun also reminds people about the responsibility to their family, workplace and community. Several audience members have said watching the show inspired them with strength to overcome hardship, and encouraged them that there is a hope for the future, and to live harmoniously together in the future.
Just by looking at the responses above, you can see the great value to people and business in sponsoring the Shen Yun Performing Arts.

Our Objective:

The presenters (the Oriental Culture Association and the Michigan Falun Dafa Association, are non-profit organizations promoting traditional Chinese culture and values) of the 2011 Shen Yun Show in Detroit have two main objectives: To ensure the success of Shen Yun's performance in Detroit and to extend an opportunity to local entities to partner in this great educational and cultural endeavor to benefit our local community.

This year's tour to Detroit may be up to 5 or 7 shows at the Detroit Opera House with a potential audience of 10,000 or more. Shen Yun Performing Arts group (based in New York) relies on revenues from ticket sales and public donations to cover its expenses, therefore it relies on both promoter's efficiency and support from our local community.

The OCA and the Michigan Falun Dafa Association believe that it is our duty to look out for our partners/sponsors' best interests. We will provide genuine value for the contributions you make. We would like to establish a long-term, mutually beneficial and cordial relationship with your organization.

Many partners/sponsors in cities around the United States and abroad have experienced positive results and have become patrons of the show year in and year out. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you to enrich the metro-Detroit community.

Dear Raven:

Thanks for your information! I would definitely like to receive more information. The "Michigan Oriental Culture Association" and the "Michigan Falun Dafa Association, are the local presenters of the Shen Yun show and are both geared to promote Chinese culture through cultural events and awareness events.  The Michigan Oriental Cultural Association has also recently started an office in Michigan for The Epoch Times Newspaper, a non-profit news media business company. The Epoch Times with headquarters in New York, is the largest global distributor of a Chinese language newspaper.  We have also worked with the DMC Children's Hospital, donating back 10% of Shen Yun ticket profits from the hospital.  Offers like this are open to any non-profit organization/charity.

Please visit our sites: www.mi-oca.org and www.detshows.com for more details. If you have any question, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Best regards,

Ping Hsiao
