BBB Secure Your ID Day - April 17 @ The Palace

BBB SECURE YOUR ID DAY: Saturday, April 17 (10am-2pm)

Recycle your financial documents, computers and electronics responsibly and securely at the BBB Secure Your ID Day. Because identity theft is largely a crime of access, your local Better Business Bureau is empowering residents and small businesses to take an important step in helping prevent identity theft by attending BBB's SECURE YOUR ID DAY. This is a free community shred and computer recycling event on Saturday, April 17 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Understanding that identity thieves also target personal computers, event partner PARAGON GREEN, a Michigan based IT Asset Recovery company will be offering professional hard drive data cleansing at the BBB’s Secure Your ID Day, 10am-2pm at the Palace. They are also collecting electronics for recycling, including 




computers, laptops, printers, cell phones, gaming systems and related computer parts will be collected. All equipment collected will be recycled free of charge and according the company's Zero E-Waste Policy.

There is a small fee for the data wiping service, $10 per hard drive. TVs will also be accepted for a $15 recycling fee and CRT monitors of any size can be dropped off for a $9.

Shred It, of Troy, Michigan will also be offering free document shredding from 11am – 1pm.  Bring up to three normal sized boxes or bags of sensitive paper documents to be shredded on the spot for free. All shredded paper from this event will be recycled.
