We are working with Jennifer Roosenberg of the fabulous Ferndale chamber to put something together. Some of us will be heading down to Blightbusters that day too (I think). Will be a great day of transformation here in the D!
Yep. The Ferndale Area Chamber is joining with the Woodward Avenue Action Association and Eight Mile Boulevard Association for the third straight year to Clean the D. This year, we are excited to bring other community partners on board, such as, Motor City Makeover, Motor City Connect and area schools to help gather hundreds of volunteers throughout metro Detroit - all with one goal - to clean up the area to help improve property values, lift spirits and improve safety. And with the decrease in city services across the region, this year it is more important than ever.
We will be launching a web page soon that will provide the full list of particpating organizations and projects. We are always looking for volunteers that day, supplies, and of course sponsors (monetary or in-kind). If you'd like to help out or donate, contact me at 248-542-2160 or jennifer@ferndalechamber.com.
What a wonderful project! I would love to participate and will see who else I can recruit for such a great cause!
Finally, I have all of the details (or at least most of them) for May 1st's Clean the D.
Thank you to MCC for joining our efforts to help clean up various areas throughout metro Detroit. It is amazing how removing graffiti and picking up trash can make such a positive impact on an area. And with more and more cities needing to cut back on services, it's more important than ever that we as a community step up to do our part and show our pride for our great City and region!
Visit: http://cleanthed2010.eventbrite.com/ to see the list of projects and how you can get involved. We are also looking for donations of flowers (annual flats), gloves, grass seed, bottled water and snacks. If interested, please contact me at jennifer@ferndalechamber.com.
Thank you so much!!!
