Sorry to say I'll be at a training class all day, but I'm more than happy to forward th is on to others for one of my favorite non-profits :)
I'll be at the Bloomfield Hills location. This is purely an educational event and I'd be happy to answer any questions about working virtually, types of businesses that could utilize a VA, the benefits, the drawbacks. I can provide an overview on the different types of VA's, find out which type of VA may work with your company and suggest how to find one that matches your business needs.
Or you can stop by to drop a donation off for OKE and just say hello!
Terry,
Are they just accepting monetary donations? Can we also donate supplies?
I'm sure most VA's wouldn't mind taking a couple of items but they won't be able to leave the location to store items in their cars. In consideration for BIGGBY, I'm concerned about piling supplies up in their locations.
I'm fortunate because the BIGGBY in Bloomfield Hills is a drop off location for OKE anyway, so people are more than welcome to bring in supplies as BIGGBY is expecting to receive them.
If anyone is planning on taking supplies in, I'd recommend contacting the VA in that location so she can ask the management if they have space for the items.
OKE lists all their drop off locations on their site here: http://www.operationkidequip.org/sdl.html
I was at the Biggby Coffee by my house on M59 and they are not aware of this event on the 14th. Are there only a select few who are participating?
Yes, there just simply aren't enough Michigan Virtual Assistants to go around! You can see the locations that are participating at www.vablitz.com
