Recession success stories

I am working on a series about how businesses have been successful during the recession.  It would be great to hear how you have been able to succeed during the recession. It has to be something you did that was unique. I also need to know the sales impact (your sales increase/decrease compared to the industry or local competitors).

I will not call or contact anyone that responds to this question, except to notify you your business in being featured in a nes article. This question is not about finding prospects for my business. It's about creating something of value I can pass on to others.
