If you are a REGISTERED VOTER within the City of Auburn Hills - I need your vote in November...

MY MAIN OBJECTIVES:

1. Bring more awareness to the Downtown area 'Village Center' which hosts some great business, parks, entertainment, events, dining,
and residency that has been created in the last 5 years.
The potential is endless but needs to be brought to everyone's attention.

2. Work to better support the local Police and Firefighters
within our great city as they do so much to support and
go above and beyond for their city everyday in supporting the Boy's & Girl's clubs, the schools, events, parks, programs, etc.

3. Bring Awareness to the Boy's & Girl's club within our city to the residents, companies, and corporations in all that it offers the children within their community.

4. Work to create a River-walk system along the Clinton River between the two parks which encompass the Downtown 'Village Center'

I plan to continue the growth of Auburn Hills in the right path ...as it has for the past 25 years!

I have been a resident of Auburn Hills my entire life.

My family came to Auburn Hills when they fled the Netherlands in the mid 1940's from WWII - My grandfather, Fred Stonehouse was the local Milk Man and my grandparents, father, and 2 aunts built their home on the north east corner of Squirrel rd and Nichols in the early 1950's with the 3 car garage in the back with the extended bay for the milk truck.

At 6, I became a member of the Boy's & Girl's club, Auburn Hills which then was only the 'Boy's' Club on the north west corner of Squirrel and Waukegan rds. I have been a member, supporter, volunteer, coach, and board member every since. In 1994 I proudly won the award of Youth of the Year at the age of 14 in which I got to travel the state and speak in front of many politicians, business professionals, The Palace of Auburn Hills, and students at Oakland University. I vowed then to always to my best to give back and support what gave so much to me.

My first job was in 'downtown' Auburn Hills,
then called 'The Heights' at Classic Trophies which is still in business today & provides us at the Boy's & Girl's Club with some of our trophies.

I attended Auburn Hills Avondale School District my entire life as well including R. Grant Graham Elementary, Auburn Elementary, Avondale Middle School, and graduating from Avondale High School in 1997 after playing football and wresting. I was an AP art student within Avondale also doing some art work for the newly built Chrysler Tech Center as a Senior in High School as well as hosting many art shows across the county. After High School I attended college locally at Oakland Community College & finishing at Baker Business College in Auburn Hills.

I bowled on many bowling leagues at Auburn Lanes in it's day and attended many of events at The American Legion on Churchill

I have lived all throughout Auburn Hills my entire life,
Starting in College Heights till the age of 14 then Oakland Estates till 19. Later to Beacon Hill then to Bloomfield Village Blvd in my first condo & the most recent locations: Downtown Auburn Hills - Corner of Squirrel Ct & Squirrel rds & now off of Baldwin rd 1/2 mile south of
Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Park.

My mother still resides in Oakland Estates as I lost my father 5 years ago in July to terminal Cancer who retired from General Motors 2 years prior.

My sister and her husband (retired Auburn Hills employee) reside in Auburn Hills as well off of Bald Mountain rd.

*In 2007 I was awarded 'Volunteer Leader of the Year' from the Boy's and Girl's Club of Auburn Hills

*In 2008 I was elected to the positon of Chairman of the Annual Steak and Burger Dinner Fundraiser for the Auburn Hills Boys and Girls Club.

*In 2008 I was awarded the 'Service Above Self Award' from the City of Auburn Hills.

I now am the Vice President of Franklin Title Agency as I have been for the last 4 years growing the business in these trying times despite what the current market conditions have handed me - we have been steadily growing our business thankfully.

*Auburn Hills has so much to offer their residents, visitors, businesses, etc. with great parks, shopping, entertainment, night life, trails, extremely low residential tax base, and great perks / incentives for business to open and operate in the city - It just needs to be exposed, shown, and highlighted to the folks in the surrounding communities and areas to prosper as it so deserves as you travel the brick paved streets of downtown noticing the tree lined sidewalks lit up at night and glowing from corner to corner with beautiful flowers planted everywhere throughout from Riverside park to Riverbend Park as you can follow the Clinton River Trail from one side to another fishing the Clinton River or biking the path it is truly an amazing city including more Corporate World Headquarters than any other city and of course the Palace of Auburn Hills home to the Pistons and World Champion Shock and plenty of great concerts and shows throughout the year. A couple miles north is the largest mall in Michigan, The Great Lakes Crossing which is a great tourist destination for amazing deals, food, and entertainment for the whole state of Michigan to enjoy!

The city has a Nature Center off of Bald Mountain rd in North Auburn Hills with cabins to rent as well.

The city has a fabulous library and community center offering a full gym, full court basketball courts, learning center, meeting and conference rooms, as well as activities for kids, teens, families, and senior citizens, which brings me to the Senior Center which is a great facility within the campus as well. I cannot think of any other community that does more for their senior citizens than Auburn Hills. The Auburn Hills campus is across from Oakland University on the south west corner of Squirrel and University rds which has tennis courts, hiking trails, park, soft ball park, police and fire station, city hall, and all other city buildings as well.

Visit Auburn Hills from corner to corner and see what I am talking about.
