Got a wardrobe question? Ask away!

I just thought I would start an ongoing open and honest discussion where people can ask wardrobe-related questions. Perhaps you need to know how to dress for an interview. Or, maybe you're an entrepreneur wondering what kind of impression you make with your appearance to potential customers. Or, maybe you haven't a clue as to which colors go together. Whatever your wardrobe dilemma may be, there are no silly questions here. Rest assured, you aren't the only one who wants to know. So....ASK AWAY! I'm here to help!

I have one-

What would you say to a guy who wears black cowboy boots with jeans, dress slacks and even suits? Just asking, not that I know anyone like that ;-)

Terry

Good question!  I would say to your FRIEND that, in general in the Midwest, a pair of clean, well-kept dress shoes or loafers would be more appropriate for dress slacks and definitely a dress shoe for suits.  The question you need to ask yourself, I mean, your FRIEND needs to ask HIMSELF, is "How do I want to be perceived by others who don't know me?"  And, "What kind of function am I attending?"  The answer to that question should drive all wardrobe decisions.

That being said, if you were in Texas, New Mexico or Montana, you, I mean your FRIEND, may be able to get away with wearing cowboy boots with dress slacks or a suit.  Just make sure the boots are clean and look practically brand new.

Thanks for question!
