Hello fellow Motor City Connect Members,

As you may or may not know - Motor City Connect hosted & co-hosted some outstanding outreach programs and events this past week with Motorcity Blightbusters, Buy Michigan Now, Operation Kid Equip, and the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan providing funds, services, equipments, man power, awareness, and support to aid and build these great organizations building and positively growing Detroit and Southeastern Michigan everyday!

I hope you made time to give of yourself in one way or another in support of these great organizations building your communities around you whether it was giving blood when now it's needed more than ever, swinging a sledge hammer to knock down a known crack house in a neighborhood amongst families, providing supplies for those children going back to school without the meens to do so themselves, or supporting this great state in attending and or voluneteering with the Buy Michigan Now Festival in Downtown Northville showing support to those who are making it, creating it, and building it here in our great state of Michigan!

I am thankful to be able to give blood as I did Thursday afternoon at the Bloomfield location on Telegraph rd as well as had a blast tearing down known crack houses in the city of Detroit Saturday with MCC and Motorcity Blightbusters and recieving many thank you's from neighbors with families - It's a great feeling to see the change you can make in one day in the eyes of a mother. After the tear downs we met back at Blightbusters HQ and had great BBQ in the Artist Village which is one of the most interesting places I have step foot in. I met some great people and really took note on what Detroit's true potential is destroying racial boundries through community, creativity, and relationships all with the same vision! Sunday, I attended the Buy Michigan Now Festival where I heard some great bands, sampled some interesting foods, and met with some great Michigan based vendors as well as bought some amazing art work.

In closing I just want to simply say - Thank You Motor City Connect.

Thank You for making this all possible. Thank You for giving this opportunity to not only give back but in opening the eyes of all the MCC members for future giving and positive outreach to these amazing organizations in need that might have never been thought of and or carried out but, because you made this possible - Detroit's children, families, communities, and business' will all be in a better place and we're definately taking a couple steps in the right direction to making our communities a better place.

Thank You Motor City Connect - I am truly proud to be apart of it.

Great post Keith.  It was a pleasure working with my fellow MCCers on Wednesday in Detroit.  Giving blood and donating to Operation Kid Equip for the cause rounded up a great week in Michigan!
