Go Comedy! will have a Showdown for Kids on May 1, 2009 to benefit Operation: Kid Equip, a program that provides free school supply kits to low-income & poor students in our local schools.

The show, the Go Comedy! All-Star Showdown, is a highly interactive improvised game show - one part "Whose Line is it Anyway," and one part "Match Game PM". The audience can be as involved as they want to, but aren't picked on. The game show is comprised of a series of short improv games, challenges performed by members of the Resident Company Lauren Bickers, Troy Davies, Chris DiAngelo, Anne Faba, Garrett Fuller, Michael Hovitch, Pj Jacokes, Suzie Jacokes, Heather Kovacik, Louie Krause, Tim Krzyczkowski, Bryan Lark, Jaime Moyer, Scott Myers, Matt Naas, Jamen Spitzer, Cara Trautman and Mike Wilson.

"Part of the reason we opened shop in Ferndale was its strong sense of community," said Pj Jacokes, Producer. "It's important to us to help give back and by teaming up with Operation: Kid Equip we can do that in a very real way."

Tickets are $19 and available for pre-sale at Go-Comedy! at 261 E. Nine Mile Road in Ferndale and at the door. 100% of the ticket proceeds go to Operation: Kid Equip.
Each ticket sale will provide one child in need with a backpack full of over 30 essential school supplies. "This is a fun way to come out to Go Comedy! for the evening, have loads of fun, and know you've helped at risk children in our community get the school supplies they need," said Menachem Kniespeck, co-founder of Operation: Kid Equip.

"There is also a fun mystery gift, valued at $20, with every ticket purchase." When asked for a hint, Kniespeck smiled and said, "My enigmatic answer to the mystery is that some people will be able to start using it as soon as they leave the show."

Great applause to the team at Go! Comedy for a fabulously funny show to benefit Operation: Kid Equip... Thank you, Menachem and Mike - it was the perfect, amusing end to a hectic work week, and I've got a pink pelican to prove it!
