The Power of Social Networking

I attended the two seminars on social networking and have some very positive feedback. Thank you to Charlie and Terry for putting these events on!!!! I recommend them to everyone.

I have to share with you that I experienced something great today! I received an email from an old manager of mine because I invited her to be one of my LinkedIN connections. She's been watching my team slowly disintegrate and wanted to know what was going on with me. I replied back that I was still in limbo-land and had yet to get a new position either with EDS or with HP Corporate, however, I am continuing to work on the integration of EDS systems into HP and on my certifications. Well she replied back that she was glad that we had hooked back up, that she had not forgotten about me and remembered what a great team member I was when she was heading up the service offering. She said that she's going to be opening up some new positions and had me in mind and that I qualified for several of them! It's with an external paying customer, too - which is a huge plus!  She was my virtual manager back when my niece, Brittany, died and also commented on what a great philanthropic thing I do with the women's expo. WOWOWOWOW! Leason learned here is NETWORKING NETWORKING NETWORKING. I am so glad I attended those social networking seminars! This gal is in Texas!

So time will see where things go from here, but it sounds pretty promising and a great email to get on a Friday evening. With all the cuts in staffing and pay-rates this week, this was a nice email to receive.
