Restaurant owner gives back
to SE Michigan community with flexible pricing
Birmingham, Mich. (March 3, 2009) - To help local residents ease the burden of these difficult economic times, The Whistle Stop Restaurant and Bakery, a local institution that has been satisfying customers since 1965, is letting patrons name their price for dinner.
The "name your price" offer, which includes everything on the menu minus desserts, runs March 23-27 daily from 4 to 8 p.m. The Whistle Stop is located at 501 S. Eton Rd.
"This offer seems like the right thing to do, given the challenges many local families are currently facing" said Whistle Stop Owner Matt Rafferty. "I thought what better way to give back to the community then to allow patrons to pay what they are able to for dinner. All we ask is they pay what they think the food and our service are worth."
The Whistle Stop's menu features an array of entrees from signature breakfast items like French toast and omelettes, to homemade dinner choices including hearty soups and traditional pot roast. Fresh breads are made daily in the bakery. Prices range from $4.95 to $7.95 for most menu items.
ABC's Good Morning America once named The Whistle Stop as America's Best Diner. The restaurant also has earned many local awards and recognitions for its food and service over the past 44 years.
