The things you should know blasts

In an effort to get more people using the site, we need to take the mystery out of using it. Over the next few weeks we will be sending blasts that talk about different best practices for using the Motor City Connect site. This one will talk about the importance of sharing "member objectives". Don't be surprised when you get a few extra e-mails from us over the next month.

We can't help you unless you tell us how to do so.

Sure the "ask" section on the discussion board is a great place to tell us how we can help you, but there is a better place right on your profile page.
It's called "My Objectives". You can add as many as you would like (I suggest at least 3). They should talk about the people/businesses/clients/business partners you want to meet. Effectively, you should use them to answer the question: "How can we help you?".

Here's a neat little fact, every time you add one, it shows up on the main page. Instead of adding 3 or 4 at a time, add 1 a day for three days. That way, different people will see you at different times.

In my view, Networking has to start with an expressed need. It's ok for you to ask for help, because our helping you actually helps us too!
