MCCs Objectives- Yours, Ours and how we can work together to achieve both!
I just sent this blast:
|
The things you should know blasts In an effort to get more people using the site, we need to take the mystery out of using it. Over the next few weeks we will be sending blasts that talk about different best practices for using the Motor City Connect site. This one will talk about the importance of sharing "member objectives". Don't be surprised when you get a few extra e-mails from us over the next month.
Meet. Understand. Connect.
Here's a neat little fact, every time you add one, it shows up on the main page. Instead of adding 3 or 4 at a time, add 1 a day for three days. That way, different people will see you at different times. In my view, Networking has to start with an expressed need. It's ok for you to ask for help, because our helping you actually helps us too! Terry, I attepted to follow the link for the Mar 5th 8:30am MCC Learn "Using Linkedin, Facebook and more for business". This event doesn't seem to be on the calendar. Could it be it scheduled for another date/time?
Hello Terry
What are the commitments with becoming an area connector?
Curious
Pam
Hi Pam! Glad to see you have interest in becoming an area connector...
Terry can fill you in on the fine points, but in general, an area connector's role is to help members navigate through the site, connect them with others in the group they should know or would like to know, show up at as many events as is reasonable in your schedule, be active on the site in posting and responding to discussion topics, attend a few connector meetings, and, if called upon, facilitate meetings.
Being an area connector has been great for me in that I've expanded my personal network, sharpened my leadership skills, and had the honor of helping Terry and Charlie fulfill their dreams of building the best business network in SE Michigan.
I'd be happy to tell you more if you want to give me a call -
Linda
Pam,
to Linda's points I'll add:
- Lead a monthly MCC meeting
- Find the location for the meeting
- Determine what type of meeting
- Drum up attendance for your meeting
None of this would be done on your own as Terry and current Connectors would be available to assist you.
Let me know how else I can help anser your questions:)
Drew
