In an effort to get more people using the site, we need to take the mystery out of using it. Over the next few weeks we will be sending blasts that talk about different best practices for using the Motor City Connect site. This one will talk about getting noticed using the discussion boards. Don't be surprised when you get a few extra e-mails from us over the next month.

People won't care about referring you business until they care about you.

Many people come here and post their needs on their first visit. While I am a big fan of that, it still turns lots of folks off. Instead, try joining in on a couple of discussions where you can add value. Doing that four or five times on different discussions will allow people to become familiar with you. Once you have familiarity, people will be more inclined to help you.
