A New Industry for Michigan?
This bit was in the Michigan Technology News today -
GRAND RAPIDS - If you want to go green, you may
have to go blue instead. Or at least that's what Cotton Insulation
hopes. The company recycles old blue jeans into cotton insulation
that's then stuffed into walls to not only reduce heat loss in winter
and air conditioning loss in summer, but also noise year round. Now the
company is shopping in the Midwest for a factory to recycle jeans in
the heartland.
WHAT IF... MCC members started a used jean drive, collected hundreds of thousands of pairs of jeans, and offered to donate them to Cotton Insulation as start-up material if they agree to build their factory right here in Detroit? Charlie has room to store them at Curve, right?
