Red, Green and Warmth UPDATE.
Hello everyone. MCC is trying to get a head count for blood donations on December 30th. We need at least 30 people to commit to donating before the Red Cross will even confirm the event with us. This is truely a worth while cause. MCC started the Red, Green and Warmth last year with hopes of it being an annual event. You can donate blood (red), money (green) or warmth (blankets) at this event. Our MCC community is almost 2100 STRONG. Please, let at least 30 of us make sure this event is known as an annual event and something we all look forward to participating in each year.
If you can donate blood, please send me an e-mail with your name and phone number and I will put you on the Red Cross attendees list. It's that easy:)
And in the afternoon join us at Baily's to share holiday stories and New Years wishes.
Thank you all for being a part of MCC. Together we can build a great community.

Stephenie I gave last Friday so I can't give on the 30th. If I'm correct members can still help by donating blankets or cash, correct?
I forgot something, when do you need the 30 volunteers by?
Absolutely Duane. You can still help out by donating blankets or cash. Thank you for asking. As for when we need 30 volunteers to register to donate blood on December 30th, next Friday Nov. 21st is the last day we have to turn in our confirmation form to the Red Cross.
Come on people. MCC needs a commitment by 30 people by next Friday November 21st, to make the blood drive official. I know some are limited by religion and some by job obligations, but if you can give why don't you open your heart to a good cause. It's a rude awakening when you have a need or maybe a loved one has a need and the blood is not available. With this in mind your commitment just might make a critical difference for you or someone close to you. Anyone who can'r give blood can help with a financial donation or even something as simple as a blanket. Sometimes just a little warmth can make a big difference for someone not a fortunate as us.
This is such a little thing yet so important. Four people have shown they have a heart so far. We need 26 more by next Friday November 21st. I personally cannot give because I gave blood last Friday, but I will be there with a blanket. I would never ask anyone to do anything I would not do myself. Volunteer, or bring a blanket or a little cash. It's all good. Let's get our thirty volunteers by Monday and maybe the only thing contagious we will have to deal with next year is MCC's enthusiasm for accomplishing it's humanitarian goals.
Still only four people signed up. So sad. We need thirty by Friday November 21st. Are there additional MCC members willing to sign up? It;s on the December Calender December 30th "Red, Green and Warmth"
As usual Walt Rush has added his name to the Red Green and Warmth Drive. Whether it's Blightbusters or the Red Cross Walt can always be counted on to contribute. That brings us to five volunteers and we need thirty by Friday 11-21-08. I sure hope Walt is leading a charge of support for this event. Please don't wait, participate! With almost 2,100 members, this should be a slam dunk people.
I think it is important to point out that you can donate at any of the donation centers, not just in Berkley. Here is a link to the list of donation centers.

Since I will be off work that day, I will be happy to donate at the one in Farmington Hills. If you have blankets or money you wish to donate but can't make it that day, I would be happy to act as a drop off center in Southfield and will take everything to Farmington Hills on the 30th. GVA Detroit, 26100 American Drive, Ste. 600, Southfield, MI 48034.
I hope you will join me in participating!
