Keeping our children safe
I wanted to make you aware of an event specifically for parents. This event is especially important if you are a parent of middle school or high school age kids. Please note that you do not have to live in Rochester or Auburn Hills school districts to attend. See below for details of the event on November 13 @ 6:00pm, Rochester Adams High School.

Greetings!
The Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition invites you to a Town Hall Meeting - "For Parents Only! - What drugs your children can be exposed to at parties and trendy clubs" by Mr. Ken Krygel.
Our Town Hall program will be on November 13 at the Rochester Adams High School Auditorium and is being offered in partnership with the Rochester Community PTA Council, Adams High School and is sponsored in part by the Pino Insurance Agency. Thank You!
The agenda for the evening is as follows:
6:00 pm - Please arrive early to register and review some RAHCC and other information on developing a safe and healthy community. Local school Police Liaison Offers will be on hand as well for questions from parents/adults.
6:15 to 7:00 pm - Parents and other adults attending the Town Hall will be able to review an extensive display of drugs and paraphernalia to further their awareness and ability to recognize how drugs are used and often manufactured with household materials. In addition, a representative from LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) will be present to answer questions about their drug testing kits.
7:00 pm - Coalition Executive Director, Paul Funk will provide a brief community update including a short presentation on one family's message about how Heroin abuse affected their family.
7:15 pm - Our guest speaker, Mr. Ken Krygel, will present his program: "For Parents Only!" This program covers the different drugs that children, youth and young adults can be exposed to at parties and trendy clubs. The presentation will include and overview of the underground culture, current drugs of choice and signs and symptoms of drug use with the new, trendy drugs. There will be time for questions as well.
Additionally, each parent/adult will receive a 30 page booklet describing the tell-tale signs and symptoms of drug use and where to seek help. Mr. Krygel is a drug recognition expert with the MacombCommunityCollegeCriminalJusticeTrainingCenter, is a retired 25 year Detroit Police Officer, and has presented to hundreds of schools, police departments, and other organizations.
Please RSVP for this important community educational event by emailing: PaulFunk@rahcc.org with your name, phone and email address. Because of the serious and detailed nature of the presentation material and "how to's" of substance abuse, this Town Hall Meeting is NOT open to youth or teens.
Get involved, be educated and help make a difference in our community!
