Red, Green & Warmth Blowout!!! - Volunteers Needed:)
If you haven't been to the MCC Troy lunch at Bailey's Pub off Maple, you should get to the next meeting! Great place and they are going all out to accomodate us.
I went last week and had a great idea (#1,003,437, but who's counting), what if we got a blood mobile there with a radio station broadcasting from the parking lot? We could get all the businesses in the WalMart plaza on board and really make this HUGE! Bailey's is already behind it, they even made a phone call to a radio station. Bad news is station wants $5k to show up - what's up with that? Red Cross is a NONPROFIT (and so is MCC in reality!).
Who wants to help? Who has a contact at a radio station they can leverage to get free broadcasting crew in the parking lot?
Who has more ideas to share?

I think it's important to make sure we have a blood mobile before we worry about a radio station. I have a call into the Red Cross and I will keep you all updated.
For those of you who are newer to us, we did a great job of getting the word out about the Red, Green and Warmth campaign last year. Every year, the Red Cross get Dangerously short on blood near the holidays. We have the ability to help. Don't like donating blood? You have the opportunity to donate Green (bucks) and Warmth (blankets) too.
My initial thought is that we can donate Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and that we would join together to celebrate at Bailey's on Wednesday the 17th. In fact, I have the room reserved already.
I am looking forward to makning a positive impact on our community and saving some lives. Are you ready to do the same?

This is the type of event that allows the servant leadership vision of MCC to shine. I am looking forward to participating and helping in whatever way I am able. Who else is going to commit? That is what we need, we need commitments and then action!

It was nice to meet you this morning. Are you looking for people to work the event? I was wondering if we could get my daughter to help. She is a junior at Troy High and could possibly recruit and coordinate other friends or their parents to participate/donate. We've been looking for her to volunteer for community service. Let me know your thoughts.

The Red Cross called me today. They told me that they had a desparate need for blood now. I'm giving next Friday. It might eliminate me from donating in December. With that in mind I would still like to donate my time and efforts to try and secure media coverage for the blood drive. PLease let me know what I can do. BTW do we have a firm date yet?

Please let me know what I can do to help? I just joined BNI Group, we have 29 members in the group. I can try get some people involve to donate blood or help out. We meet every Thursday. Please let me know what do you guys need, I can volunteer. I'm not sure if I can donate blood, because I'm currently weight under 100#'s pounds.
