I'm not sure if I should start or not? I'll guess I will paint half the picture:
It means being in a group that is committed to bettering the area in which WE ALL LIVE. You're from Detroit. We're from Detroit. You know, the Motor City.
I want to us to pay attention to how we can help one another. I want us to ask one another for that help. Together, we can do great things.
Why are you here? (my next plate will read yruhere)
Terry

MCC I see as more of a launch pad, then a docking station.
The ability to drive by, get a lot of info on various info and put it to use in my life as I see fit - that's when MCC serves me best. I put myself in that one-third of the people who do the second third of the work around here, rather then the leadership who makes this thing zing! So, I like having a power reference tool that I can opt in and out of .... depending on my needs at the time.
But I sincerely appreciate that it is here!
Although I have been involved with MCC for a relatively short period of time, the vision that has been cast by MCC's leadership (Terry, Charlie & crew) is rock solid. Who wouldn't want to be "connected" with like minded individuals from various professions and walks of life who are commited to helping each other? Not only helping in a business aspect, but also in personal development and giving back to the community. I continue to "shout from the rooftop" and brag about WHO MMC is, WHAT the group is all about and the VISION of servant leadership.
I am fortuneate and proud to be connected with MCC.
My top three reasons at the moment:
I'm here because Terry and Charlie's vision of a "venue" that builds community as well as business is important to me.
I'm here because the people who are consistent and active participants in MCC are among the most qualified, credible, and sincere people I've met in years.
I'm here because being here causes me to think, on a daily basis, of how I can contribute to the growth and success of those around me. And to think, on a daily basis, of what the people I meet teach me that helps me grow and succeed.
-A MCC member recently sent me an email saying that he had buyers for a few million dollars in certain equipment. But needed a good, reliable seller, and do I know anyone. In one email I was able to hook up a couple of guys to do some significant business. I have no idea if anything will happen. But they are at least great contacts for one another.
-Jennifer Roosenberg got multiple emails from MCC members about the KYDA expansion and need for commercial space.
-Team MCC raised nearly $2500 for the walk for friendship.
-Larry Henry is turning to us collectively for advice and help in business.
Shall I keep giving examples of have I made my point? When an MCC member needs something they turn to MCC. I try to help. Hopefully its successful. As Terry teaches, the laws of reciprocity, the laws of attraction, and the laws of the universe say that the more I help, the more I will receive. When I switched to Invescor 4 months ago, I turned to MCC members to help get in front of Insurance agents. Thanks to many of you, I have brought in numerous new clients.
Keep giving me opportunities to help, and I will continue to try my best to do so.
Happy New Year

It means being associated with people that know there is enough business for everyone and you do not because others fail. The people I have met at MCC are unselfish in their advice and their efforts to aid in each others' success. We don't keep score, we keep our eyes and ears open for information that might be of value not only to ourselves but to others who the info might benefit. This feeling of family is unique in my experience. This kind of outlook comes from the top. The leaders at MCC are givers. I am proud to be a member.
I was taught that a network can take you places you never thought you will be. Although my current goal is to seek employment, being a recent Graduated. However, it is an opportunity to be with an group that is ready to rebuild the image of Michigan. I have some dynamic things that want to implement in the future. The need to have new friends and/or mentors who share some of the same visions is priceless. Most of the time "Its not what you know, But who you know" I stand behind that statement.
MCC is a formula in harmony with the natural laws of growth they provide incremental, sequential, highly intergrated approach to the personal and interpersonal effectiveness. MCC combines there talents and abilities and they (Terry and Charlie) create something greater together. EFFECTIVENESS,BALANCE,PRODUCTION, and RESULTS. MCC is a place where buliding a rich, highly productive relationships with other people. They create roles and goals that are clealy understood and shared by other people. Buliding relationships is what MCC is all about, first you must understand, then to be understood, thats effective communication. MCC is a place for effective people in DETROIT. (thats motor city connect) Its a open door for success.
MCC has introduced me to people with endless vision, talent and passion for what they do and how they go about doing it. I have been able to build business and personal relationships that energize me on a daily basis.
I think the power the MCC group has to change and influence our communities and businesses is endless, and I am just happy to be a piece of the puzzle.
That is why I am here!
I'm probably not your average MCC member because I'm not here for leads. If some come my way great but that's not my primary objective. I use MCC as an outlet to satisfy my need to contribute to my community. Things like Blightbusters Saturday October 4th are ways for me to do my small part. Life dealt me a rude awakening a few years back and made me keenly aware of problems that exist that selfish goals had blinded me to before. My priorities were redirected from inward to outward. A change that I now find very satisfying. I only wish I could do more for those who need help.
Please don't get me wrong, I do like leads but they are not my priority. MCC gives me an outlet to deal with my priority. PLUS, I JUST PLAIN LIKE THE PEOPLE!
Don't cry Keith, that was a good shout that goes out to all the great members of MCC.
I did join because of the potential leads, but what I learned within the first week is that this group is for reaching out and connecting. Period. I've met some great people, and the feeling of community and purpose that is here is much more important than any single lead could ever be.
I even got a celebrity bonus - someone came up to me the other day because they recognized me from my picture in MCC. That's a first.
Mark, If the recognition came at Monday's event at the Northfield it very well might have been me who recognized you from your MCC pic. It was nice meeting you and hopefully we cam talk again. Which shows another strong advantage to MCC. One that I resisted till Charlie and Terry shamed me into posting a picture. People can put a face to your profile and if what you have to offer is of interest it makes it easier for them to seek you out at one of the fine events you've RSVPd to.
I don't think any of us has yet tapped the potential of MCC! That's the best part about it - it's constantly growing and we're constanly chasing its potential.
For me recently, it's given me an outlet to develop leadership skills while helping others. How can you go wrong with something that allows you to pursue multiple goals at the same time?
I am new here because I heard Terry Bean speak at the Mall of Michigan event and was impressed. I am looking forward to attending my first luncheon in Plymouth
Hmmm... Good question!
First, I'd say being in MCC makes me THINK! And to look at myself and my relationship with the world.
It's a group of people I want to know and do business with. I haven't met a "bad egg" yet, and I've met some really great people who are becoming trusted business partners and wonderful friends.
It's a place to be open about all the stuff I don't know, and to learn (even some things I thought I already knew!)
It's a place to give back. I haven't found any other place that combines business and contributing to the community like we do. And, quite frankly, I think people's souls are hungry for opportunities to reach out and give and make a difference. MCC gives us the chance to do that.
It's a group of people who you can be straight with and tell the truth to - and they like it!
There's lots more, but I'm going to leave some things for other people to say. I will leave you with one of the most important things I get from MCC: FUN! LAUGHTER! HUMOR! And, A SENSE OF THE RIDICULOUS! And without those, what's the point, anyway?!
Yes it was at Monday's event. I look forward to running into you again soon.
